1. About This Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how MediLearning International L.L.C-FZ (“MediLearning”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and digital learning platform.

It should be read together with our Privacy Notice, which explains how we process personal data more generally.

MediLearning International operates internationally. The rules governing cookies and similar technologies vary depending on your location.

Where applicable law requires consent before non-essential cookies or technologies are used, we will ask for that consent through our cookie consent controls.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device when you visit a website.

Cookies can perform different functions, including:

  • allowing websites to work correctly;
  • keeping users signed in;
  • maintaining shopping carts;
  • remembering preferences;
  • securing payments;
  • preventing fraud;
  • understanding how visitors use a website;
  • measuring website performance; and
  • understanding how visitors arrived at a website.

Some cookies exist only during your browser session, while others remain on your device for a defined period.

Similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and other browser technologies, may perform comparable functions. References to “cookies” in this policy should therefore be understood to include similar technologies where appropriate.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

We categorise cookies broadly as follows.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for our website and services to operate correctly.

They may be used for:

  • website security;
  • user authentication;
  • account login;
  • maintaining sessions;
  • shopping cart functionality;
  • checkout;
  • payment security;
  • fraud prevention;
  • remembering privacy choices; and
  • delivering services requested by the user.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide the website or a service requested by you, they cannot always be disabled through our cookie consent controls.

Disabling them through your browser may prevent parts of MediLearning from working correctly.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies enable additional website features or remember choices that improve your experience.

They may remember settings or preferences and support optional website functionality.

Where required by applicable law, these cookies will be subject to your consent choices.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use MediLearning.

They may provide information such as:

  • pages visited;
  • time spent on pages;
  • navigation through the website;
  • referring sources;
  • approximate geographic information;
  • browser and device information;

  • interactions; and
  • website errors or performance information.

We use this information to improve our website, educational content and services.

Where required by applicable law, analytics technologies will only be enabled in accordance with your consent choices.

Marketing and CRM Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to understand engagement with MediLearning communications and website content and to support our customer relationship management activities.

Where these technologies are not strictly necessary, they will be managed according to applicable consent requirements.

Partner Attribution Technologies

Where you arrive at MediLearning through an approved partner referral link, we may use a cookie or similar technology to record the referring partner.

This allows us to associate subsequent activity with that referral, including, where applicable:

  • website visits;
  • product or module views;
  • additions to cart;
  • checkout activity;
  • registration; and
  • purchases.

We use partner attribution information to measure referral performance, understand customer journeys and administer our commercial partner arrangements.

A partner-attribution cookie does not by itself give the referring partner access to your name, email address or telephone number.

Any optional disclosure of your personal contact information to a referring partner for follow-up will be handled separately as described in our Privacy Notice.

4. WordPress and Website Cookies

Our website is built using WordPress and related technologies.

WordPress and components used to operate the website may set cookies necessary for:

  • authentication;
  • login;

The exact cookies used may depend on whether you are logged in and the functionality you use.

WooCommerce may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to:

  • maintain your shopping cart;
  • remember cart contents;
  • manage checkout;
  • determine when cart contents change;
  • maintain customer sessions; and
  • complete ecommerce transactions.

These technologies are generally necessary to provide shopping and checkout functionality requested by the user.

6. Stripe Payment and Fraud-Prevention Technologies

We use Stripe to process card payments.

When payment functionality is used, Stripe may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including:

  • processing payments;
  • authentication;
  • security;
  • preventing and detecting fraud;
  • assessing transaction risk; and
  • providing payment functionality.

Depending on the Stripe services and configuration being used, technologies may include cookies such as:

  • __stripe_mid;
  • __stripe_sid; and
  • other Stripe security, authentication or payment-related technologies.

Stripe may process information about the device connecting to its services and information associated with the transaction.

Stripe’s fraud-prevention technologies are important to the secure operation of our payment services.

MediLearning does not use Stripe’s payment fraud-prevention technologies for behavioural advertising.

Stripe may update the technologies it uses from time to time.

7. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with the MediLearning website.

Google Analytics may process information including:

  • number of visitors;
  • website sessions;

Where HubSpot tracking is not strictly necessary, it will be managed according to applicable consent requirements.

9. Kinsta and Hosting Technologies

Our website is hosted using Kinsta.

Our hosting and infrastructure services may process technical information required to securely deliver and protect the website, including IP addresses, requests, server logs and security information.

Cookies or technologies that are strictly necessary for website delivery, infrastructure protection, security or fraud prevention may operate regardless of optional analytics or marketing consent.

10. MediLearning Partner Attribution

MediLearning operates a partner-attribution system that allows us to identify when a visitor has been referred to our platform by an approved business, marketplace or distribution partner.

A partner referral may be recorded using a cookie or similar browser technology.

The attribution may persist for a defined period so that activity occurring after the initial referral can be appropriately associated with the referring partner.

The information may be used to:

  • identify the referring partner;
  • measure referral performance;
  • attribute registrations and purchases;
  • understand the customer journey;
  • calculate applicable commercial arrangements; and
  • produce partner-performance reporting.

Partner attribution is separate from consent to share personal contact information with a partner.

Where consent is required for a particular partner-attribution technology under applicable law, that technology will be managed through our consent controls.

11. How Long Cookies Remain on Your Device

Cookies may be either:

Session cookies, which generally expire when you close your browser; or

Persistent cookies, which remain for a specified period or until you delete them.

The duration of a particular cookie depends on its purpose and the provider responsible for it.

Third-party providers may change cookie names, functions or retention periods as their services evolve.

We periodically review the cookies and similar technologies used by our website and update this policy where appropriate.

12. Your Cookie Choices

Where required by applicable law, you can choose whether to allow non-essential cookies through the cookie controls displayed on our website.

Depending on the options available, you may be able to:

  • accept all cookies;
  • reject non-essential cookies;
  • accept or reject cookies by category; and
  • change your preferences later.

Strictly necessary cookies may continue to operate because they are required to provide website functionality, security, authentication, shopping, checkout or another service requested by you.

13. Changing or Withdrawing Consent

Where processing relies upon your cookie consent, you may change or withdraw that consent.

A Cookie Settings or equivalent control should be available through the MediLearning website to allow you to review or change your choices.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before consent was withdrawn.

You can also control or delete cookies through your web browser.

Please be aware that blocking all cookies through your browser may prevent parts of MediLearning from functioning correctly.

14. Third-Party Services

Some technologies used on MediLearning are provided by third parties.

Our principal third-party technology providers associated with website cookies and similar technologies may include:
